We have two types of shipment pricing: set rates and negotiated rates.
Set rates only apply to shipments that are under 50 miles and are extra-small, small, or medium-sized. You will always see the price for these shipments before you give us any card information.
Negotiated rates apply to everything else: large, extra-large, and pet shipments. We ask for your card information before you settle on a price with a driver because we must verify that you have a valid card before a driver starts the negotiation. Don't worry - we don't charge you anything until you have agreed on a price with your driver and he or she has picked up your shipment. You may, however, see an authorization hold for $0.01 to $0.03 on your card. To learn more about what an authorization hold is and why we place one on your card, click here.
